Event Details
"It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change." - Charles Darwin
The Carbon Tax which comes into force on 1 July 2012 will surely drive incentives for increased energy efficiency in Australia. But how far will it really help transform consumer and business behaviours in energy use?
Like so many other areas in sustainability, understanding what motivates sustainable behaviour and how to implement effective and sustained change projects is an issue facing organisations across all sectors of government, business and community work.
Now in its 3rd year, the Behaviour Change for Sustainability Congress brings together a unique and diverse group of corporate and community leaders, policymakers, psychologists, social scientists, program implementers, and organisational experts to to share and develop their expertise and understanding of individual and organisational sustainable behaviour change.
The 2012 program focuses on behaviour change in practice. Real world case studies will offer participants a true flavour of what works and what doesn't directly from practitioners working in this field.
By sharing knowledge and stories and adopting a collaborative approach, we hope that participants will leave with a better strategic relationship, and greater shared understanding of behaviour change for sustainability, further learning and implementation.

3 Pillars Network
3 Pillars Network is a not for profit organisation which aims to create a leading knowledge network on sustainability and resilience in Australia.
The network will generate and share knowledge via events, online briefings, webinars and research.
The aim is to run conferences that are change events: they will reframe a policy issue, start a new change conversation and support some fundamental shifts. The events would be nested in a peer-exchange network, to build the discussion and collaboration.
3 Pillars Network believes that the challenges we face require new capabilities to adapt and rapid innovation: in policies, service propositions and behaviours.
The subjects we focus on and the design of our networks and events will reflect this.
